OnePlus 5T buyback program launched in IndiaThe buyback program allows you to exchange an old smartphone for a discount on the purchase of a new OnePlus smartphone. Buyback programs are one of the wise choices to make if you like to upgrade your smartphones soon after its next edition is launched. OnePlus too is now offering a buyback program where you can exchange an old device to buy a new OnePlus smartphone at a lucrative discount. The program was first announced back in 2015, and now the OnePlus 5T has been added to the list of devices for which you can trade-in an older device. If you couldn’t purchase the OnePlus 5T during the e-commerce sale period which ended last week, then you could purchase the flagship smartphone under the buyback program. This is how it works. The buyback scheme is provided by Manak Waste Management Pvt Ltd. (Cashify). It must be noted that the buyback service can be availed after an order for a new OnePlus smartphone has been placed through the officialoneplusstore.in. Once you provide the details of your old device, you will be provided with a maximum possible quote for your device. The exchange facility is currently available only in select cities, and applicable on specific brands and models. Check the buyback details and then proceed with the purchase of a new OnePlus 5T. Unlike other exchange programs where the old device is handed over at the same time as the delivery of the new device, the OnePlus buyback program first delivers you the newly purchased phone after the payment has been made. The pickup of the old device is scheduled at a later date. The Cashify team will schedule a pickup and based on verification, cash will be handed over to you at the very time the device is getting picked up by a representative. You can check for the eligibility and approximate buyback offer according to the older device you want to exchange on the official website. For instance, an Apple iPhone 6s can get you up to Rs 21,250 under the trade-in scheme. The OnePlus 5(64GB) model is eligible for up to Rs 20,700 discount. OnePlus recently launched the OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant. Available only in one version of 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, the Lava Red model costs Rs 37,999. This model retains all the innards of the original OnePlus 5T with dual-camera setup, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, and 3,300mAh battery. To recall, the OnePlus 5T features a 6.01-inch full HD Optic AMOLED 18:9 display with 2160×1080 pixels resolution. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. For optics, the smartphone packs a 16-megapixel+20-megapixel rear camera. Up front, there’s a 16-megapixel camera. Other features include Face Unlock, fingerprint scanner, all-metal unibody and NFC support. related articles

Samsung Galaxy S9 Early Hands-On Videos LeakedHIGHLIGHTS
While Samsung just released an invite for its Galaxy Unpacked 2018 eventhappening on February 25 ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, the Galaxy S9 has now been spotted in a couple of leaked videos. The videos apparently give a glimpse at the upcoming Galaxy S series flagship and confirm the presence of a thin-bezel, Infinity Display panel that would deliver an upgraded experience over the last year's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. One of the two videos, which first surfaced on Weibo on Wednesday, appears to highlight the touch sensitivity of a Samsung Galaxy S9 unit that would be in a testing phase. The 10-second video doesn't reveal the interface, which is quite likely to be powered by an Android Oreoversion. However, it does show the display in an active state with a keyboard in the Chinese language. The front panel appeared on the small video seems to be identical to the one debuted on the Galaxy S8. Apple unveiled its Siri-powered smart speaker, the HomePod, back in June last year, but the device’s release date was pushed from December 2017 to ‘early 2018’ due to some reasons. It now appears that Apple’s smart speaker is nearing its launch as the device has received the regulatory approval of FCC (Federal Communications Commission), which is a clear sign that the smart speaker is finally ready to hit the market. The product ID assigned by the FCC to the HomPod is BCG-A1639, of which, the ‘BCG’ part signifies the grantee code and the ‘A1639’ part is the model number carried by the device. As per a diagram in the documents published by FCC, Apple’s HomePod will bear the necessary regulatory information on its bottom panel. The Taiwanese company has begun HomePod shipments. However, revenue contribution from the product to Inventec is expected to be limited this quarter, as the initial shipment is not large. Apple is yet to make an official announcement regarding the HomePod’s exact release date. But with FCC giving its stamp of regulatory compliance to Apple’s smart speaker, the ‘early 2018’ release date appears to be quite close.
“Android 9.0 Pie!”Its that time of the year again when we try and guess the name of the new version of Android. It’s become a silly tradition among Android enthusiasts – even though most of them will never see the update on their phones. And Google knows most of us are busy speculating on the lines of parfait, peanut butter, pudding, pistachio, and whatnot, so it’s having a little fun with fans. Google’s engineers are internally referring the next version of Android as “Pi,” at least according to the recently unveiled commits in the Android Open Source Project repository. And while “Pi’ does sound like an appetizing dessert, it may actually be the internal codename, which Google knew will eventually be discovered. So consider this a very Googley easter egg, just like Android ‘Key Lime Pie’. XDA’s Mishall Rahman came across the teaser and promptly set Android fans into frenzied speculation mode. The mention of ‘Pi’ even brought some easter egg hunters out. Some say Google will announce the developer preview on 3/14 or March 14, which would again be a very Googley thing to do, but a little too on-the-nose if you ask us.
The first developer preview of Android P is expected to launch in the coming months. If Google’s track record is something to go by, we’re just a couple of months away from the first Android P Developer preview. So the March date is not implausible, but it just seems too easy. And as of now, not much is known about this new OS itself. However, speculation is it will put more significance on reducing the footprint and making Android faster on low-end devices as well. But features, meatures! The real question obviously is what will it be called. It’s probably one of the silliest things to argue over each year. But it’s fun, so let’s get to it. Leave your best guesses in the comments. Razer Phone 2 launches in September, perhaps alongside Project LindaLast year Razer entered the smartphone space with its eponymous device which made quite a splash with a 120Hz display panel and huge battery. The gaming company is already planning its next handset, according to a new rumor. The Razer Phone 2 will reportedly be released in September, which means an official unveiling at IFA seems likely. This information allegedly comes from "an internal source", but since it's just an unconfirmed rumor for now don't forget to take it with a pinch of salt. Interestingly, Razer may launch the Project Linda laptop dock alongside its second smartphone. That is, if this product will actually get the go-ahead to become more than the concept that was showcased at CES. The company's execs are set to decide on whether to go forward with Linda within the next few days. Just a few days ago, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan has hinted in a Twitter reply to Marques Brownlee (of MKBHD fame) that Linda appearing on the market is a real possibility. The laptop dock concept was put together in 2-3 months, and the design work only took about one of those months. The general format of the Razer Blade Stealth was used and Razer collaborated with Sentio on the software, since that's a company specializing in turning Android smartphones into laptops.
